Shaun King (@shaunking) is a white guy from Kentucky who fooled the good folks at Morehouse University into thinking he was a poor bullied black kid. He invented a backstory of being a victim of a brutal hate crime in which he was nearly beaten to death by a dozen white students, dealing damage that would lead to numerous spine surgeries.
Shaun actually sold his sob story to Oprah's people, who ate it up. He was awarded a college scholarship reserved for black men. Once in at Morehouse, he set his sights on becoming the blackest man a white boy could be. Not content with changing his race, he has since declared war on white people, and seemingly views the entire world through racial glasses. The struggling New York Daily News has since picked up the controversial King and actually pays him to write race-baiting stories, despite having no background in journalism, and a horrifying record of integrity.
An investigative blogger at http://www.re-newsit.com/ was the first to break the story about King. Documents below, obtained from Renewsit, are from Shaun King's own court deposition regarding his high school "assault". These have gotten very little attention, considering how damning they are to King's credibility.

What can we gather from the above?
1. Shaun makes no mention of the serious injuries he now claims. Thus, his story has changed over time. Note the dates here:
3/1/1995 Assaulted at school.
...
6 MONTHS LATER
...
10/27/1995 Shaun is told he'll be needing, "the first in series
of painful spinal surgeries to attempt to make right the wrong
that had happened to me earlier that year."

6 MONTHS LATER
...
4/29/1996 Shaun provides the
testimony pictured above.

If Shaun and his mother knew that this assault was the reason Shaun required 3+ major spine surgeries, that would be absolutely paramount to his case. It would be front and center. Yet, there isn't a single mention of surgery. No damages sought to pay for the surgeries. Nothing. The case was dismissed in 2001 due to lack of prosecution.
Only later, after high school, did Shaun attribute his surgeries to the assault. Why? Because Shaun and his mother both knew the surgeries were completely unrelated to the trauma. That was probably explained to them ad nauseum by the surgeon.
2. It's quite likely that more than one person hit Shaun. However, that does not justify changing the story into a massive 12-on-1 racist beatdown that left him clinging to life in the ICU with severe spinal trauma.
3. Shaun apparently played the trumpet.
4. In the last few sentences, Shaun says something curious: "...they won't let me go to school at Fayette County...". Perhaps there is even more oddity to the Shaun King story. This deserves a whole nutha blog post. On to the next one!
